The server's uptime has grabbed my attention recently and as we get into the mid 200+ hrs the latency is real. I have owned and coded servers in the past as well as managed the server's VPS and from my experiences I have gathered that restarting once every 72 hours will reduce player ping as well as free up memory that the server needs to continue running smoothly.
I understand that the owner got on earlier and compiled objects which fixed nulls and bugs, however that did not fix the bugged NPCs (like Bandos and Kraken) or the lag spikes from the server working hard for 235+ hours without a restart.
A full server restart takes about 2-3 minutes, restart the VPS and we'll say 5 minutes. What's the harm in doing this? I don't understand why we're letting the server run this long...
This server obviously has potential (Normally at least 170+ players online) and with a few quick fixes and updates we could snag #1 on all of the toplists bringing in more players and a better community.
