as someone that has never worked out before, is p90x decent? i can get it for free from my dad and he has all the stuff for it. i just want to try the 90 days once and try and get a bit more in shape. not looking for anything like roids or special supplements, i just want to lose some weight and build a bit of muscle

Do you have access to a pull up bar?
yes, one of those removable ones you put on the door frame

also a very wide variety of weights, an exercise bike, a lot of those band things with varying resistances, and I'm sure some other stuff

Would you be down to try some bodyweight exercises? There are very good beginner routines I can recommend.

I just want something I can get into the habit of doing. With something like p90x its easy to just put in the dvd and know you dont stop until its over. If yours sounds like it will work I'll be up to try it.

Also in terms of my build, I'm overweight when it comes to my chest, my arms are thin (need some muscle tone though) and my legs actually look decent but could use toning as well. If I can take care of that I'll be happy.

It isn't such a bad thing to just be in it for the aesthetics, as it's a passion just like bodybuilding or calisthenics.

For your triceps I'd suggest adding a bit more variety in, tri-dips, tri-extensions etc etc. Other than that I'd say it doesn't look too bad, if your diet's good and you're supplementation is correct there's no reason that won't give you a good lean gain.

Hmm yeah looking at it now there aren't many tricep exercises, you're right :P  I'll probably add in a few extra on the Saturday, so then got a proper couple days at least to recover.
