    I give grated parmesan cheese.

I wish someone would care enough to post. RSC development is dead :(
I think it really is dead this time. This place has been a ghost town ever since the transfer of forum ownership.

its been a ghost town for longer than that. i still check here every week hoping for an exciting thread.

all the time i dream of playing a lowish xp rate server again, with a fresh start, decent admins. rsc pservers have advanced enough that you don't need a full time dev, after the initial setup. someone put out a server with decent notice to build hype! no custom shit just a pure rsc clone

Any website that ugly is not worth it. Probably has no proper support either. Just look for deals on WHT..

Just because something isn't largely popular in other fields does not mean it can't be efficiently used in them.  You can create games with Ruby, full graphical applications.

If anything, JRuby opens the Ruby language up to an even larger amount of possibilities.

What you just said is everything Python is. Ruby tried to be Python. It was too late.
Haha, what.... Except Python looks like dongs, it's support is dongs, and it's packages are dongs.  EVEN IF Ruby tried to be like Python, which is retarded to think so, it will far surpass Python in Ruby's upcoming versions.
The support community for Python is vastly superior than the support for Ruby. If you ask a question on how to do something in Ruby, guess what? There's a hundred different ways to do the same thing, which is just plain stupid. That is the opposite of why Python is and one of the reasons why Python programmers are much more in demand than for Ruby. In fact, most companies that want someone who knows Ruby is because they are working with Rails.
Not a valid argument. I could give you a hundred different approaches to a problem in python if you wanted. The same with Java. Python is not really "more" indemand then Ruby, it's just been around longer allowing it to build a better foundation.
You can, but that's not Python's philosophy. There should only be one obvious way of doing something. That is now how Ruby was designed at all. Python is definitely more in demand than Ruby (this is factual, not just an opinion). Python is easily readable, which makes having multiple Python developers working on a project is way more efficient than having multiple Ruby developers (speaking from experience).

This is what results when you let folks with no college degree attempt to program.
Being able to program has very little to do with college. In fact, most college curriculum on programming aren't always up to date on best practices.
i remember about 4 years ago i was taking a java class, all the material was written around java 1.1

4 years ago was 4 years after we were playing RSCD you hacker

As for what I use for actually writing etc the programs are:
Sublime Text is my text editor.
Fling by NCH is my FTP software.
WAMP for my local web server for testing etc.
    Asana for project management.

    gross

Do not ask why, ask why not!

You should create a small article in Programming about UDP and mechanisms to make that work, I'd love to give it a read :)
