    RSCTools Map Editor
    « on: March 22, 2015, 01:34:54 PM »
I've had this sitting on my laptop for a while now, about 10 months actually, and I just pulled it off the old drive in preparation for it's demise.

I haven't worked on it in forever, and haven't ever really been part of the RSC coding community, but besides this I was working on some tools to customize an RSC server. I realize that most people aren't interested but I figured I'd post it here anyways.

It's based off of Peeter's 3D editor, but he listed his as kinda buggy, and the movement controls were just totally whack, so here's a few things I changed:
    • One-click launch .JAR file, no ANT scripts!
    • Bug fixes
    • FPS-like camera movement
    • Movement by section, including up and down
    • Toggle roofs
    • Ability to edit sections 0x,0y to 255x,255y
    • Tile world position
    • Better section loading
    • Saves as .RSCD format

I wanted to add things like an object placement mode, and totally overhaul the actual landscape editing but I never got around to it.

All in all not really a major improvement of any sort, just fixed some irksome stuff.

    It's legit.

I'm just using the .tk as a free domain, thought it made the site look sharper. I didn't want to pay for a domain just to host this stuff.
It is my own site, no cookies, no ads.

    Added some pictures.

Thank you for a great tool. Now I guess it is up to me to figure out how to change the edit tools so I can select and use 1 at a time instead of all at once. I would like to be able to put a wall in without having to set elevation, color, texture, roof, all at once.

I don't know why the links broke, but I updated the main post again. The Dropbox links are still active.
