What's the XP rate planned for this server?
Hopefully decent since they have to compete with OSRS.
    What's 'decent' in your mind?
25-50x would keep people playing. If they try 2x, it will be as successful as other remakes (not successful).
    Good man, and good joke.

Experience rate will be discussed when we're doing our pre-release 2 weeks of testing.

I personally don't think you should do any higher experience rates. the amount of grinding that can be done in rs makes up for an easy to accomplish skill. i think double xp weekends could benefit however, perhaps every weekend or bi-weekly.
your only reasonable competition is osrs and they're declining due to the horrible content updates/lack of good content updates.

I believe your best option would be to pick up where they left off, but possibly run two versions. one which is the official release of Arios, upon completion. and another which continues to update and progress further into development (more content updates pushed, more quests, basically moving up to the 500s). but while also making both accessible from the same account.

so like I could play #498 and get some good levels, then hop over to #5xx and do some fun quests for the nostalgia, kill a few bosses, sell loot, hop back to #498.

the only things I can see as a problem would be Unhandled data on the lower revision, but if say you log in to the #498 with #5xx specific data, it simply removes it and adds it to the bank. (two separate containers would probably be needed here, so that all #498 items are visible on the #498, but a container holding #5xx specific data isn't shown on the #498 but is still populated. then the #5xx has the specific data, shows the #498 items, and then shows the second containers contents.

this is how I would go about approaching it, if I had the ability to take on a server that has so much potential.

you guys clearly have the knowledge to get things done. you obviously all have the will to keep going.

why put all this time into the "perfect remake" then giving a easy to achieve goal, making the server grow boring ever so fast. and then being dead/only ran by te "richest" players who only log in to but stuff and show off.

    etc etc blah blah

I agree, if people wanted the default slow xp rate they could just simply play osrs.. keeping th xp rate up and throwing in double xp weekends would keep players around IMO, but also don't make it too too high, wouldn't wanna be able to 1 hit to 99!

Been extremely busy this week but i'm on christmas break now and I expect to get lots done.

    - Finished the tier two and tier three Brimhaven Agility traps.
    - Tier two (spiked floor, pressre pads, hand holds)
    - Tier three (spinning blades, darts).

The Brimhaven Agility arena is now completely finished, you can exchange your Agility Arena tickets with Pirate Jackie.

    - Added the Animate Object packet.

What you mean is you want us to make a second world (of higher revision) while keeping the same character files?
save files yes, as for login information. though you could approach like jagex and do runescape-skill-level[id] = x // runescape-2-skill-level[id] = x2

to get the data for the other serve, or just have in continuously sync between worlds. so i could go kill 'frost dragons' to train my strength, then hop over to @#498 and pk.

its all up to you guys. i just feel as though the xp rate should be the same, or 2x. no more.

the only reason i said to make it 2 worlds/same characters is because of course the full f2p remake will be boring to play after a while. that's why osrs died out as much as it did. however, if i could switch between my eoc account and osrs with the same bank/stats, i'd play a lot more often.

i could go train at [insert some good training area from 2007] and then hop to the higher revision to do it's [recently added content update / quest etc] then hop back.

this gives you a stable 498 to host (once the remake is completed) and a server to continuously add updates into, whilst drawing in more players.

Added a new system that integrates the relations between consumables. Consumables are any item that can be consumed by a player. This design integrates consuming foods & drinks (potions) as well as cooking food. Each consumable holds relative properties that distinguish it from others which allow the player to react differently with it. Potions being a consumable drink is also integrated into this system.

    - Redid the main cooking method to integrate the new consumable system.
The burning levels are based of data collected from rswiki, the levels differ based on using a range/fire or when wearing cooking gauntlets. (for most)

    - Added a recipe system. The recipe system allows different combinations of items to create a product. This system is used for pies, stews, pizzas, etc...
Every recipe listed by rswiki has been added. The list of pies that are able to make on Arios are redberry pies, meat pies, mud pies, apple pies, garden pies, fish pies, admiral pies, wild pies, and summer pies. To make a pie you must mix flour and water to make pastry dough, then place the dough in a pie dish and fill the dish with fillings.
Pizzas, stews, etc all follow this basic principal.

    - Added all the correct healing amounts based of rswiki.
    - Added all correct new items after consumption based of rswiki. (example: scrambled egg - empty bowl)
    - Added a large majority of new items after using the empty option. (example: strength potion - vial
    - Added skewering items. This is when you take a raw rabbit for example and use it with an iron spit. Then you use the skewered item over fire to roast it.
    - Added watermelon slicing. Watermelons cannot be consumed as whole and must be sliced into three pieces.
    - Added dry sinew making from Meats.
    - Added soda ash making from seaweed.
    - Added chocolate cake making, this is when you take a cake and mix it with a chocolate bar.

Great idea, I'm going to consider this depending on the popularity of the 498.

    - Finishing bank pin settings + recovery
    - Started on Pest Control (instanced regions working, 3 tier boats working, ...)

    Good job.

Nice updates, keep up the great work.
