    Setting up a 508
    « on: September 02, 2008, 03:42:53 PM »
508+ servers are a new set of servers that are similar to normal ones, except they have better graphics, items, etc.

This guide will teach you how to set one up!

    1.  First of all download a 508 server and client.  Here is palidino's one (original)

    Client- _Client.zip.html
    Server- _508_Server.zip.html

You can also download mine which is somewhere in the download section.

    2.  You will need to download the 508 cache.  _folder.zip.html

After you have downloaded press start, then run then inside that type in "C:/"

This will take you to your C:.

When you are inside, right click then press new folder.

After you have made it, right click it and press rename.

    Change the name to cache508.

Open cache 508 and paste the 508 cache you downloaded.

    Now you are done!

Remember to run the server before the client or else it won't work.

    3.  Editing

To make yourself admin, find login.java, then search the word "palidino76"

Then change that to your name.

After that open up the folder called cmd then find the batch named "all" and change the java inside to yours.

After that compile and you are done.

Note::  Use the compiler provided or else it wont work.

I will be posting more tutorials upon request.

When ever I try running the client with the cache in the correct dirs correct case etc, it stops loading on 12%. Do you know why this is? I have the server running before I try loading the client.

Gj i guess.  All works right, but palis post said how to set it up, and most of this is common sense tbh.  But it will help the people not on rune-s or the ones who have no common sense.

We can make an almost exact replica of runescape
Hell No. Also 'almost'? Hell we'd be better off deleting the 503 thinking you 'almost' be like runescape. We will never have it 'almost' the same replica unless your talking about gameframe, the rest, heh first get rid of the shitty methods you added in before saying this shit.
    Obvious failure is obvious.

Too bad stick with 317 and 377 if you want loads of features

    508s aren't "playable" yet.

This is a really funny [508] thread. The cache can be better placed, and the cmd files. It's easier to compile all of them with just one command prompt. For some errors, you uploaded the wrong cache this guy gave you. There is no virus scan. So most likely there's a break in the connection. If anyone needs any help. Use rune-server.org/forums.php or the moparscape help section. I'll be sure to help you. Even though i'm not on much.
